Since 1976 Mercedes-Benz had been planning a smaller car and the new series 201 or “Baby Benz” arrived in dealerships in December 1982. Initially, demand was low as the small Mercedes was expensive and looked much less impressive than the middle class series W 123 which was built in parallel until 1985. Eventually, the 190 developed a reputation for its high quality and constant improvements. Beginning in 1990 the 190 E 1. 8 was the starter model and by now the 201 series has somewhat of a cult following.
Our Mercedes-Benz 190 E 1. 8 was first registered in Kassel/ Germany in 1992 and the classic has been with its 4th owner since 2019. Its low mileage of 84, 000 kms is plausible and a quality assessment gives the car a grade 2 comparable to a young used car. There will be no service related delay so get in and drive the “Baby Benz”!
