This 1992 Porsche 944 Turbo Cabriolet is one of just 100 right-hand drive examples that were sold in the UK, so it’s a rare car, indeed.
Finished in black with a full black leather interior, it’s a great looking car. In fact, we think the 944 is one of the few sports cars that look better in convertible than coupe form; perhaps partly because the windscreen is 60mm lower, giving a sleek look.
What’s great about this example is that it is in original, unmolested condition and has had just two owners from new, the second since 1993.
The interior boasts Sports seats and air-conditioning. Unusually, it still has the original Blaupunkt Symphony radio/ cassette player, as well as all the original booklets in their leather wallet, and the toolkit. The car also comes with original sales brochures which are lovely to peruse, plus a couple of old Porsche magazines featuring 944s (one showing a youthful Philip Raby!).
The 944 has a well-documented service history, with receipts showing that it’s been well cared for over the years. It came to our service centre a year ago for over £3300 worth of work, including a major service, cam belt and water pump change, air-conditioning overhaul and various other jobs. While not a concours example, this rare Porsche is in very good overall condition, inside and out, and is a car you could use and enjoy.
