For sale here is my lovely 1983 Passat CL Estate (aka ‘Variant’).
One family owned before me and garaged all its life, this is a real survivor car and is in superb, original condition inside and out. It is, as far as I’m aware still in completely standard factory spec and that’s how I’ve kept it.
Outside the paintwork is in great condition as you can see in the photos and the original steel wheels were refurbished in January when a full set of new tyres was fitted just before the latest MOT. Nice original features like the supplying dealer plates and rear window sticker are still on the car.
Inside, the trim is in lovely condition and is original right down to the period 1980s Blaupunkt radio. The headlining was recently replaced so no sagging fabric.
The car appears to have been cavity wax treated from new which, combined with relatively little use and being garaged has kept it in truly lovely condition. Please look at the car’s online MOT history (which is almost unblemished) to give you confidence in how good it really is.
Plenty of money spent recently to keep it at its best including:
• Strut top rubber mountings replaced
• Wheels refurbished
• 4x New tyres
• Exhaust centre and rear sections
• Carburettor flexible mounting replaced
• New tailgate gas struts
• Timing belt replaced in January at 50, 380 miles

In the history file is the original owner’s manual, Blaupunkt radio manual and receipts for all of the recent money spent.
The car has just been freshly serviced, MOTd and fully valeted inside and out so it’s completely ready to go for its new owner.
This would make a great show car, very cool daily driver or even a retro surf wagon with a period roof rack etc.
Nice B2 Passats are hard to find, and estates are now incredibly rare. To find one with this condition and mileage I think is almost impossible. As they say, find another!
