For sale is my beloved S2 which I have owned since 2018, it's a great car and I will miss it but due to the expansion of the ULEZ (!!) I am forced to get a more recent car :'(
The Audi S2 is the first 's-line' car and it is the successor to the Audi Quattro and the predecessor to the RS2 which is pretty much the avant (estate) version of this car, same chassis and engine but the RS2 has different bumpers and some Porsche bits. The 5 cylinder engine is derived from the power plant of the 80s Group B Audi Quattro and the sound is just as intense with an exhaust. The legendary quattro all wheel drive system allows the car to put the power down with ease and on the motorway she really opens up. Audi is famous for the 5 cylinder engine but they did not use the 5 cylinder configuration again until the ttrs and the new RS3, so the engine sound is rare on the road too. This is the later ABY engine (230bhp), as opposed to the 3B (220bhp) and the colour is Brilliant Black. These cars are becoming very rare with less than 40 S2's on the road in the UK.
If you're reading this listing I expect you know about these cars anyway so here is the lowdown of this example:
This car is mechanically great and pulls like a train - it just needs some cosmetic work to the paint as it has chips and small dents swirls/ scratches etc to the paintwork after 25 years of use, still looks good as is though. Interior is in good condition with usual wear - carbon interior trim, sunroof, headlining still ok.
The car is in pretty much stock form apart from some choice upgrades, added: 3b 3 spoke steering wheel, handmade ss catback exhaust, 17x8 avus alloys (same as stock but larger diameter and width), boost hoses, 4. 2 coilpacks and custom loom, ecu chipped to 280bhp.
I have done the usual maintenance jobs whilst I've had it and money has been no object - the big jobs, along with general maintenance (any mot advisories and fluids etc) were: belts, pas and water pump, sachs performance clutch, restored front subframe and added polybushes, sorted out electrical gremlins, fixed trip computer lcd bleed.
I have 2 upgrades/ modifications that I haven't fitted yet (pictured) which are oem+ type upgrades, the coilovers (KW v1 £1100) are made in Germany, fully adjustable and designed specifically for this car, and the brake caliper upgrade is the same as on the RS2 from Porsche (from a 964), comes with discs and adapters (£600) - both included in the auction price of the car!
She also has a set of recent Michelin PS4 tyres.
If I was going to keep the car next jobs would be ss downpipe and sports cat, refurbish the rear subframe and get a paint correction or full respray. Would be a great classic daily as is or would be cool to build it into a 1000bhp drag car, the engine is certainly capable.
All documentation and V5C present. L25 UFO private plate will come with the car (previous reg was M205 DHY).
