1953 Ford E83W Thames Light Van What a lovely classic commercial vehicle , The history supplied with this charming van points to the Thames starting work with "Robert Pullan LTD , Nidd Valley , Hygienic Laundry , Darley , West Riding , Were it was also registered being MWU406 . An original Laundry Receipt booklet from "Robert Pullan LTD" is supplied with the Van , Today this van presents superbly having been subject of an extensive restoration in and around 1999/ 2000 , Supporting invoices supplied , Currently fitted with an Anglia motor with SU carburetor for ease of driving , The original rebuilt engine is supplied with the Thames van, along with various spares such as a rear axle and gearbox etc . You will note from the photographs that there is also an adjustable more modern drivers front seat fitted again for comfort . The original but recently re upholstered seat is supplied to put the Thames back to its original condition . This is a very drivable classic van , Its three speed gearbox is easy to use and the steering and braking are lovely . It retains working trafficators but again for ease of use it also has flashing indicators fitted as most did . Upgraded to 12 volts and fitted with a full stainless steel exhaust system . An ideal show or promotional vehicle and they seldom come to the market .
