In 1961, Douglas stopped producing 125cc Vespas, replacing them with the Piaggio 150cc model. The GS was particularly popular amongst the healthy "mod" market, despite being imported from Piaggio. This attempt to amend declining sales along with various special editions made for some exciting designs, this 150cc GS being no different. This particular examples claim to fame is that it appeared in the world-famous film Quadrophenia, pictured here with Peter Fenton at the handlebars. According to our specialist consultant Bill personally provided this GS150 for the film and was ridden by actor Garry Cooper.
This funky sixties icon is in original condition and is looking for a nice home, hopefully to be restored or displayed. This history file includes dated test certificates and an original registration book which have been well preserved by the former keeper.
