“Collection by Vermant” is pleased to be able to offer you this truly exceptional Mercedes 190SL. This magnificent 190SL left the factory in Sindelfingen, Germany on the 16th of April 1959. This SL is one of the few that were delivered in Europe since almost 70% of total production was exported to the United States. This 190SL however stayed closed to the factory and was delivered new in Munich, Germany to a mister Xaver Faltermeier.
Today, this car is painted in the beautiful colour Feuerwehrrot (DB534) or better known as Fire Engine Red. This colour can not only be found on the body of the car, but also in the interior. The dashboard of the car has been painted in Feuerwehrrot to complement the exterior colour. The dashboard colour on a 190SL always matches its exterior colour. When continuing on the exterior, we can also find the Feuerwehrrot on the rims and the partially chrome hubcaps. When looking at the interior, we find a beautiful beige leather (1060) interior. All the buttons, gear lever, chromework and steeringwheel are still in immaculate condition.
This 190SL has been subject to a restoration a couple of years ago. During this restoration, a lot of time was spent on retaining the year specific details on this car. Today, this car is still equipped with the rare and original Solex carburettors, Clock in the glove compartment lid, satin black finish of the engine compartment and the luggage compartment, rubber luggage mat and 5 period correct wheels of which the spare wheel is still in new and unused condition. During this restoration, no expense was spared to bring the car back into showroom condition. The car was restored before it came into possession of the last owner, thus dating back from before 2014. Despite the age of the restoration, this 190SL is stil in almost new condition with no blemishes on the bodywork, engine or interior visible.
This specific 190SL was imported into Belgium in Juli of 2014 and has been in the possession of a Mercedes enthousiast since. Since acquiring the car, he only used it sparingly and only when weather condition were perfect. This makes that the car has only covered 5. 000 km over a period of 8 years. The car has been cared for during these 8 years by the owners mechanic and is mechanically very sound.
In short, this beautiful 190SL is ready to enjoy the road again in style and comfort with its new owner.
