A good early XK8 Roadster 4. 0 litre automatic.
Supplied new by St Helier Garages in the Spring of '97, the original owner had the car from 1997-2001, then sold once again through St Helier Garages with its warranty Insurance to its second owner who kept the car until 2008. Since then it has been in the hands of an elderly Jaguar enthusiast who has used the car sparingly, but had the car serviced at regular intervals so it has been kept 'on the button'.
Supplied with all the original books, handbook, service book ( 12 services), Invoices, Jaguar literature and Warranty Information, Nova Letter (Confirming all import duties, namely VAT have been paid), Current MOT certificate (until the 1st of March, and no advisories). All the paperwork for registration for a UK mainland V5. Road Fund licence is £154. 50 for 6 months or £270 for 12 months. I can help with the registration should the new owner want me to.
2 x sets of keys and 2 x alarm fobs.
In very good overall condition, the interior is all original and untouched, no tears or undue marks anywhere, more wear on the driver's seat ( I have noticed how these Jaguar seats don't wear well at all) than the passenger seat, all in keeping with a 25 years old British built car.
The boot compartment is very clean and undamaged. The Jack, spare wheel, tools etc are all present and correct, and appear unused. The 10 stack CD holder is also present.
The bodywork is exceptional, very few marks, no dents. Very clean and tidy. As are the alloy wheels, still with its factory finish. Pirelli tyres are fitted all round.
The hood has no tears, rips or wear, perhaps given a more thorough clean, I would have to call it 'as new'.....
The car has the leather hood cover/ bag, so covers up the hood completely when down, also in cream leather.
The wind deflector is also in the boot, as fitted behind the seats.
Mechanically the car starts, drives and stops very well. The engine is extremely smooth with not a sign of overheating in traffic, mated to a very smooth gearbox, overall no issues are apparent, it does drive in a very tight manner. It flew through its MOT, with the comment of what a nice car it is......
I can't get the radio to switch on, maybe me or maybe the car, and the boot compartment is on valet, so entry is only via using a key, just like the old days.
A lovely 25 years old and early example of the XK Convertible, with few owners and low mileage. Lovely to use as it is, every day, high days or holidays. An enthusiast owned example that has seen relatively little use for the past 14 years, ready to be used and enjoyed.
