Here for sale is my much-loved 2018 Abarth 595C Competizione. I have owned the car for about two years in which time I’ve driven it all around the UK and bits of Europe.
The chances are that if you’re reading this, you already know just how much fun these cars are to drive. With 178bhp on tap in a car this small and light, it never fails to raise a smile. It’s arguably the most characterful hot hatch out there, and it feels so much more special than the ubiquitous Fiesta STs and Minis.
In the city, it’s every bit as useable and easy as a regular Fiat 500, but press the ‘Sport’ button and the car is transformed into a real B-road weapon with firmed-up steering and improved throttle response.
In this mode, you can make the most of its Garret turbo and amusingly noisy Record Monza exhaust which sounds absolutely fantastic. It really does feel like a baby supercar with its G-meter, boost gauge, and carbon fibre and Alcantara trim.
The body-hugging optional Sabelt seats hold you in place, while the aluminium pedals are perfectly positioned for heel and toeing.
This car benefits from the larger 7-inch infotainment system with an excellent sat-nav that is up to date and ready to go. It also has a brilliant digital instrument display which changes depending on your drive mode.
This being a 595C it gets a wonderful full-length fabric sunroof that can be retracted to three different positions while on the move. Unlike many convertibles out there, scuttle shake is minimal thanks to the inherent stiffness of the 595’s chassis. If you’re thinking of making the switch from a hardtop Abarth, it’s well worth it.
Speaking of the chassis, the Competizione model comes with Koni suspension and some meaty Brembo brakes which are fantastic. The car also gets optional black Supersport alloys which are in good condition, with one or two very minor scuffs.
The rare two-tone paintwork is in fantastic condition and never fails to turn the heads of those in the know.
Other options fitted to the car are the upgraded Xenon headlights with washer jets, aluminium oil and fuel caps, and Beats audio.
The car has been pampered during my ownership, and maintains a full service history, with a major service last year at Mangoletsi.
I’ve never had any problems with it; in fact, it’s never been anything less than superb in just about any situation. Around town, it’s small enough to fit anywhere, while on longer runs it’s a remarkably accomplished tourer sitting at “motorway speeds” with ease. It’s on twisty roads though where it really comes alive.
The fuel economy is fantastic, while insurance and road tax are pleasingly affordable.
The recent acquisition of a new toy means I can no longer justify owning so many cars, so unfortunately the Abarth needs a new home. I am located in Sale, Greater Manchester and am happy to facilitate viewings and test drives (with proof of insurance).
If you have any questions or would like to arrange a viewing, please contact me via email as I can’t always answer my phone at work.
Thanks for looking.
