Original paint BSA A10 Golden Flash. 650cc OHV twin. The Golden Flash has a beautiful patina: this is what a well kept and well maintained bike looks like 66 years after it first left the factory. Everything is original, first paint, first chrome.
Mechanically, the Golden Flash is fully sorted. The engine was out of the frame and completely apart about 1000kms ago, with new mains fitted among other work carried out. As a result, the engine is a fantastic runner, it will start first or second kick and idle steadily hot or cold. Good compression and a very silent running engine. Don’t let the patinated exterior fool you, this bike is very healthy mechanically.
When standing next to the engine running, it is hard to believe it is 650cc. When you get behind the silencers and give it throttle, you appreciate this is indeed a big capacity bike. The Golden Flash will follow modern traffic without a problem. The gearbox selects freely.
The only points worth mentioning are that the original petrol tap will need a new cork gasket as it is slightly leaking. The seat has some tears. I would keep the seat as it suits the patina of the bike or fit a nice single seat instead. The bolts/ stays for a single seat are fitted so it would be easy to do. A single seat will be included with the bike.
There is a very well made stainless rack which can be unbolted in minutes.
