The 1992 Familia GTR was Mazda's official homologated entry into Group A rallying in the early 90’s before sadly Mazda withdrew before the car ever had a chance to compete as a works car despite showing great promise during early testing driven by Finnish rally legend Hannu Mikkola. This example is one of only 200 homologation road versions produced in factory UF white non sunroof model and powered by a 1. 8L DOHC turbocharged engine producing 210bhp with full time 4WD and viscous LSD. Having covered a mere 45, 131 miles (72, 631 km) from new.
These cars are now super rare if not impossible to find in good condition with low kilometers in Japan as many back in period were converted for use in amatuer rallying or have been abused and poorly modified with numerous issues. Prices in Japan have risen dramatically for genuine low mileage GTR’s in good condition. Now fast becoming a collectable piece of 90's rally history this stunning example would sit proudly in any collection or indeed could be driven and enjoyed.
Lovingly fettled by us in the UK with 15, 000 GBP’s spent to inc full glass out/ door shuts bare metal respray carried out by MW bodyshop to present the car in as new condition. Viewing essential. Many new uber rare genuine Mazda external trim and mechanical parts sourced through our contacts direct from Mazda Japan at great expense. New 17" OZ Rally wheels/ Toyo TR1 tyres. OE alloy with new tyres included.
Original Mazda steering wheel retrimmed in grey alcantara. Mazdaspeed carbon shifter. Retrimmed headlining. Bilstein coilovers. Mechanically standard, original Mazda exhaust with CAT. Super clean underneath.
Major service completed to include genuine Mazda cambelt & water pump, coolant, gearbox, transfer box and rear differential fluids. Motul 10w40 fully synthetic engine oil + filter, NGK Platinum plugs, Airfilter. New brake discs & pads all round.
