Description
Up for a very reluctant sale is my 2003 330ci Clubsport manual in velvet blue with M3 Kiwi leather and 160k on the clock. I had originally purchased this car in order to convert it to a track car. After finding this particular car which ticked the boxes for condition and spec, I proceeded to have various bits taken care of with a view to the number one priority - safety. The list below I think outlines that i wanted to be sure the car would be reliable as well as safe - given that going pretty quick in a strait line is a given with the lovely M54 3. 0.
In the 2 years I have owned the car I have done the following:
New thermostat, expansion tank and hoses
Braided brake hoses and up-rated brake fluid
Oil filter housing gasket
Rear subframe and mountings inspected and cleaned - the Subframe is good.
2 oil and filter services (invoices from local specialist present)
Brand new ambers all-round with brand new OEM LED versions on the rear. Original clears included if you want them.
Had the gear linkages rebuilt with a BMW kit - so manual shifter feels nice and tight
Brand new set of genuine BMW floor mats
Fitted most of the front end with Powerflex bushes
Fitted PS4 rear tyres
What drew me to the car aside from its lovely colour is its lack of rust, it is fantastic shape with only one very small patch less than a 5p coin on rear of nearside arch. Bootlid and other arches are all in good shape.
Sadly due to a number of things which happened over the years since buying the car I never did end up getting to a track with the car. Also what I had not factored in as I simply didn't know anything about them at the time, was what a special car the CS is and with one of the best owners clubs in the UK. The car is pretty well known among the CSOC (club sport owners club) members and I have made some great friendships and acquaintances through being a member.
Prior to my ownership the car has had the following:
Vanos rebuilt and new rocker gasket
CCV and pipes replaced
New DISA valve
Hedgehog resistor changed
All 4 discs and pads
The paintwork isn't perfect although the car does clean up well, I've taken it to a few car meets and it is always well received. The A and C pillar black fabric sags a bit at the bottom - pretty common for the E46 coupes.
The car has the Harman Kardon sound system which is really great - and a working 6 disc CD changer which I use most of the time. The AC blows ice cold and all electrics work perfectly.
I have probably missed a few things, so please message me if there's anything else you'd like to know. The car drives without fault, the clutch is great and the engine sounds fantastic. There is absolutely nothing to note in terms of how the car drives other than how fantastic it is to be behind the wheel of this car. I have only covered about 3000 miles in the car, occasionally commuting in it and weekend drives / car meets.
MOT until October - went through without any advisories. The Clubsport has been photographed for a future copy of BMW Car magazine - so will make sure the new owner gets forwarded a copy. I am selling a few cars from my small collection of BMWs and finding it very difficult to choose which ones to sell as they are all such great cars, and keep changing my mind about what to sell and what to keep.
Any inspection welcome.
I will not accept group viewings - 2 people maximum. The car is in Guildford.
