The legendary Mercedes W123 has certainly gone down in history as one of the most well built and durable Mercedes saloon cars. There are plenty of countries around the world where these are still used as taxis, clocking up 1 million miles. This was taken in part exchange and was used regularly by the last owner. I jumped straight in it yesterday and took it home with a big smile on my face.
In terms of condition, what you see is what you get. There is some corrosion on the body, mostly to the front valance and rear arches. The interior is excellent and the carpets, seats, headlining and trim are all very nice. There is a great history file with a well stamped service book, followed by a large folder of invoices with evidence of careful maintenance including a recent reconditioned steering box. The car drives great with no knocks, rattles or clunks. Engine and gearbox seem in good health. I would recommend a set of new tyres before daily use.
