Description
The Mercedes-Benz Type W153 was built from 1939-1943. It was the first vehicle from Mercedes with an all-steel body. Four body variants were offered and a total of 4210 units were built. Only a few examples of the Cabriolet B have therefore survived. The car with chassis no. 446350 was delivered to the German Wehrmacht and survived the turmoil of war. An American officer brought it to the USA as "war booty", where the car changed hands twice more before returning to Germany. There it was mechanically restored and sold to Switzerland in 2003. There it was repainted and the interior renewed. The Mercedes convertible is in excellent condition and shows hardly any signs of use. The Mercedes-Benz Type W153 was built from 1939-1943.
