Here we have a nice condition well sorted and rare, totally original, Vauxhall Astra Mk2 with a genuine 68, 500 miles on the clock. It has not been modified, it's still just as it left the factory. We have given this car some light body restoration and a mechanical check over and sort out.
Mechanically: This car is in regular use, tested and reliable. New MoT, with no advisories. Brand new full exhaust system. Oil and filter changed. Coolant drained, flushed and renewed. Full brake check over and handbrake set up. The engine has been set up by a local old school tuning specialist. The engine revs up very smoothly with no harshness and ticks over quietly with no smoke. The 5 speed gearbox and clutch are all in good working order with a light clutch pedal, which still gives precise gear changes with no whining or unpleasant noises. We can say this car is now mechanically sound.
Bodywork: As you can see in the pictures the bodywork is very presentable. The floor pans and chassis are totally original, they are solid and do not need any welding and have never been welded. We have had on both sides 2 new rear wheel arches welded in professionally and both rear wings and sills have been professionally painted in a body shop. This is a 34 year old car which generally looks to be in excellent condition, please check over the pictures for any minor paint marks and to see how good condition it is still in where it counts. I will be happy to send plenty of more detailed photos on request.
Interior: The inside of the car is excellent too and has no signs of ever having been smoked in. The light and dark brown colour scheme is of its period which contrasts very well, all carpets and seats are very clean and still comfortable. The headlining is in exceptional condition and all the electrical switches dials and stalks are in good condition and still function as they should.
Being 34 years old, a classic insurance policy will be available on this car for not a lot of money. It will make a nice classic show car for someone or would be a cheap to run as a second car. We have made every effort to make sure this car is reliable but obviously given its age we do have to sell it on a sold as seen basis as described in this description, with no guarantee or warranty implied.
