1934 Velocette GTP 250 cc Light Weight Sports Two Stroke , Typical of Velocette their light weight two stroke was not built to a budget it was built to follow the mantra of there 4 stoke larger motorcycles , Quality , Style and advance engineering . The GTP was Velocettes first two stroke and it employed self feeding two stroke induction and the crank case formed the bottom part of the frame. Our example was first registered on the 12/ 5/ 1934 , The restorer was under the impression this was a 1930 example but he found it was not so once the bike was registered . We note our example has magneto ignition rather than coil ignition , Fitted on some machines and hand change 4 speed gearbox .. This GTP has been beautiful restored by its Velocette enthusiast owner and he states the following works have been undertaken , A full engine rebuild , New tyres , New bearings , New brake shoes , New regulator built into the original regulator box , New clutch and of course its cosmetic refurbishment . Our beautiful Velocette starts easily and comes with current V5C registered 486XUU and associated paper work , The frame number is noted as 4677 and the engine number stamped upon the right had side of the crankcase is GA. 1108
