Description
ClassicClassics are very pleased to be able to offer this lovely 1972 MG Midget.
This round wheeled arch Midget was subject to a substantial restoration around 2002-2003 and looks to have been used sparingly since. We have evidence that a brand new Heritage Shell was used at this time, along with many other new parts fitted. Great care was taken to ensure that the new body shell survives as long as possible and it has been wax injected throughout to further help preserve the bodywork.
To further secure its future the car has also been undersealed.
The pale yellow paintwork still presents very well with good shine and only the very odd imperfection consistent with age and usage. As you expect panel gaps are excellent and the car presents very well. The chrome work is still sound and bright.
The interior is in just as great condition with the seats and carpets showing little signs of wear.
The car’s hood which is again in great condition is stored away under a black cover looking like new as is the full tonneau cover which is also comes with the car.
At the same time the 1275cc engine was rebuilt and converted to unleaded petrol. The engine bay is extremely clean, although there are a few Waxoyl stains under the bonnet. A reminder that rust has little chance of taking hold, at least in this area of the car.
We have various invoices and past MOT’s dating back until 2000 to accompany the car along with a handful of pictures of the restoration.
