SUMMARY
Previously sold by me back in February, but available again due to a genuine change in the buyers circumstances. He actually bought this on his retirement, but not long after purchasing it was persuaded to take another job which came with a company car. He did actually want to keep it as well as his company car, but it wasn't practical, due to lack of space, so I had absolutely no hesitation in buying it back, as this is one gorgeous car, and very low mileage too. Its also the perfect specification too, for reasons I'll explain below.
Supplied new by Robinson's Autostar Mercedes, Norwich this beautiful example of a face-lifted W211 E-Class is in gorgeous condition and is finished in somewhat rare but absolutely stunning Columbite Black. It's covered just 61, 000 miles, and is also a very well appointed vehicle too, and has a host of extras.
I originally bought this car with myself in mind, as for me at least, this is by the best combination for a W211, for everyday use. It's a combination I'd been looking for , for quite some time too; It's a facelifted car which among the many improvements made over the original W211, saw the discontinuation of the troublesome and expensive to fix braking system. SBC was a great system when it was working, but it proved troublesome in later years. It also fitted with what I think is one of Mercedes best diesel engines ever made; the 2. 1 Litre OM646, which isn't stifled by a troublesome DPF, and is an engine I think punches above it weight in the performance stakes, and although its very economical, it impressively powerful and can move the W211 along with ease, with three figure speeds coming up very quickly indeed. Finally to put the icing on the cake it has the more reliable 5-Speed Auto; the 7-Speed again could prove troublesome. Its boast impressive longevity, and a quick look on Autotrader, you'll find quite a few OM646 engined cars that have covered some impressively high mileages; I also once travelled in an W211 E220 taxi in Portugal, as I always do in Taxis, I glanced over the driver's shoulder to see the odometer showing 882, 000 kms (thats well over half a million miles). The owner driver if he'd had any trouble with it, he took great pleasure in telling me that had all been covered on the same engine and transmission it left the factory with, and over and above general servicing, it had wanted for nothing, which you'll fnd incredible if you dont know these cars, but if do, it wont come as much of a suprise.
So, it could be said (as they do on eBay) at just 61K, this car is barely run in. However to preserve its longevity, I had a major service carried out on the vehicle before it left me on 18th February 2022 at 58, 960 Miles (which cost almost £1000) Details are as follows, and I've also listed other work that's been carried out too:

The following components were also replaced to cure an intermittent suspension noise. It turned out to be the Shock Absorber in the end, but to get to that conclusion, this little lot cost well over £1500:

So, if you want a well sorted, safe and economical vehicle that looks much more expensive than it actually is, you won't go too far wrong with the gorgeous W211 E-Class. It drives beautifully, looks the part, and over and above Insurance, Tax and Fuel, doesn't need a dime spending on it.
THE MTSV DIFFERENCE
Unlike some, I don’t just simply go out, buy any old car, give it a good clean, then advertise it for more than the purchase price, disregarding any issues the car may have in the hope the new buyer won’t notice…I just couldn’t do that.
