Description
In the 1940s Desoto offered a wide variety of body styles ranging from four door sedans to convertibles. By far the rarest body style would be the “deluxe woody wagon” of which only 850 were built for the 1949 year. There are now estimated to be only 12 examples remaining. We believe this woody wagon was restored in the 1990s, and has since held up incredibly well. Done in the original factory color of “desert tan”, there are some minor imperfections upon close inspection. It is however important to note that this is far above a “driver” and it can be shown with pride.
Additional features include the fitment of dual spot lots, period correct driving lights, and a beautiful original radio. This is a very tidy example, that has been mechanically sorted. All lights, turn signs operate as they should and the car runs smoothly.
This Desoto woody wagon offers relatively modern drivability, with the ability to safely keep up with highway traffic. Topped with prior celebrity ownership, this is a true piece of rolling Americana!
