WOW – What can we say, this Car is Superb!. This 1966 Morgan Plus 4 fitted with a 2. 2L Triumph TR4A engine is definitely the best we have ever seen!. It is a former Concours winner and when you see it – you will understand why. It is absolutely immaculate as it has been subject to a full nut and bolt restoration, costing many tens of thousands of pounds.
With the car are two thick folders detailing its restoration, along with a third which contains all the invoices from its restoration.
Just some of the works undertaken include –
New Galvanised Chassis, New Ash Frame, New Alloy Body, New Steel Wings with Original Cowl, Gemmer Steering Box Fitted, New Front and Rear Suspension, Engine overhauled, Salisbury Axle overhauled, Moss Gearbox overhauled by Billy Bellinger – The list is never ending with all the work that has been done.
The Car even comes with its original Bluemels ‘Brooklands’ Steering wheel not a reproduction. The Engine Bay on this car is absolutely immaculate!
In the paperwork for the car there is also a letter from its previous owner detailing his ownership of the car along with its racing history, and it also comes with copies of its original Factory build record and delivery.
The Morgan Plus Four has always been one of the most popular Morgans and has had one of the longest production runs since it was introduced in the early 1950s.
Morgan first started to fit the Plus Fours with the Triumph TR2 engine in early 1953, followed by fitting the TR3 engine in 1956 and this particular car has been fitted with its TR4A engine since it was new in 1966.
The Car also has a racing history, and started racing around 1972/ 3 at Snetterton, and has been raced every season until the early 1980’s in both the UK and Belgium, and only stopped due to racing becoming over commercialised and expensive.
