We are a big fan of these W124s in any guise here at Duke. My father has daily driven a Cabrio for the past 10 years and we were ferried around in the rear facing 6th and 7th seats of an Estate when we were kids (cue car sickness!). Time has been incredibly kind to these cars though good ones are now few and far between.
This here is a 1994 rare crossover model; with the pre facelift body but with the later 3. 2 litre M104 straight 6 engine and 4 speed switchable automatic gearbox. The best of both. In our opinion the later facelift cars just lost some of their charm, albeit with the vast mechanical improvements this car also features.
Not only is this the desirable crossover model, but it is also a genuine Sportline too featuring the factory fitted optional sports suspension, sports steering, sports heated seats, leather steering wheel and gear knob, 8 hole alloys and wider 205/ 60 15 tyres.
The car is finished in Almandine Red metallic paint which is in in excellent condition with no dings or scratches, perfect front wings and rock solid jacking points. The MOT tester remarked that underneath it's the best he's seen in years. The engine bay is pretty tidy too!
The Black convertible roof is excellent as is the lining with no rips or sagging and works exactly as it should. The Black leather interior is near mint.
Absolutely everything including the factory fitted cruise control works as it should. It has fitted a period Sony radio/ cd player. The alloy wheels are unmarked, tyres are matching Dunlop SPs and the rear tyres are brand new.

The car really does start and drive like it would have when new. The oil pressure and engine temperature are exactly where they should be. There are no knocks, bangs, rattles, whines, leaks or vibrations. Far too often we see neglected W124s that have been dressed up for sale in light of continually growing appreciation. This couldn’t be further from the truth of this car. It is certainly the best W124 Cabriolet that we have ever had the pleasure of offering.
The car comes with with 2 keys, original document wallet, service book, owner's manual, dealer directory, Tracker info, tool kit, unopened first aid kit, period Nokia phone kit, charger and handset along with a hard wired trickle charger and battery immobiliser, recent (clear) HPI check plus a sizeable history folder containing dozens of invoices and dozens of MOTs, further documenting the car’s life.
It may come as no surprise that this car has been cared for in most recent years by a Mercedes-Benz Owners Club member and collector. They wanted to make clear too that it has always been run on Shell V Power during their ownership too.
In summary, this fine example of a rare iteration of the 320CE cabriolet just wants for driving and adoring. As with all of our vehicles, we have a digital folder available on request containing more images, walkaround videos, pictures of the underside and scans of the service history.
