Beautiful 1954 Vincent Series C Black Shadow. Just finished from a no expense spared, nut and bolt restoration to mint condition.
Original parts used where possible, all other parts from Maughan and Sons and Vincent Owners Club. Very correct build with many NOS parts sourced.
Black Shadow engine (with matching crankcase numbers) matches the RFM number. They are correctly 1900 apart.
The upper frame member fitted (UFM) is from a Rapide. The original UFM for this Black Shadow is currently mounted on a Comet and the contact details of the owner will follow the Black Shadow, so a swap can be negotiated.
A folder with photos and numerous receipts for work and parts is included in the sale. Many thousands of pounds spend.
Engine and gearbox completely rebuild by Vincent specialist using parts from Maughan and Sons only. Crankshaft re-balanced.
Girdraulic front fork rebuild with Maughan and Sons.
V3 clutch from Neal Videan/ Australia.
Cometic gasket set from Chicago section of VOC (the best gaskets for Vincents).
New Amal Black Shadow carburetors.
Original Lucas magneto rebuild in the UK by specialist.
Original Miller dynamo rebuild in the UK by specialist.
NOS Lucas ATD fitted.
Petrol tank painted and sealed with specialist in the UK.
Hydraulic dampers rebuild with Maughan and Sons using their modified seals.
Original Miller rear and front light with original Miller switch and voltmeter.
Original 5inch Smiths speedo rebuild with specialist.
Original Lucas horn rebuild in the UK by Bob Perry.
Seat re-upholstered in the UK using the original steel base and steel seat curve. Correct marine grade plywood used for the base.
Wheels completely rebuild with new bearings and linings.
Alloy mudguards as per original.
Silencer with spiral baffle from the VOC.
Original Amal levers re-chromed.
Original Miller light switch.
Everything with receipts to back up. Too much to list here. A beautiful beast that is tested and ready for the road.
