1976 Mercury Marquis.
I shipped this car in from Lakeside Florida in 2018 and it has been a great car from that point onwards. Apparently the first owner had the car for 30 years just using it for special occasions hence the low mileage of 56, 000 miles. It is a great car to drive, very quiet and comfortable. It is a base car so no power windows or seat. It is 19 feet long so don’t think you are buying a smaller car, however it is so easy to drive and attracts lots of looks when in use.
The motor is a 400 cu in V8 (6. 6 ltr) with auto transmission, power steering and power front disc brakes. It has recently had a new water pump, thermostat and radiator hoses fitted professionally. All four wheel arch alloy moldings have been replaced with NOS ones from the USA.
A new battery was fitted this year too. There are no rattles or knocks or blue smoke from the motor and gear changes are very smooth. The interior is great and the brocade seats are in mint condition with no tears, rips or sagging. The original radio and clock still work fine. There are two sets of wheel trims which you can see in the pics, both come with the car plus in door and out door covers. It has won "Best '70s" car at Rally of the Giants in 2019 and was also featured in May 2020 Classic American magazine should you wish to read more. I also have the original build sheet from 1976.
This car is an exceptional all round car that you could get in and drive anywhere.
