These Vauxhall Velox Utilities were built by General Motors Holden at their factory in Melbourne and unlike the saloon cars these trucks sit on a full traditional chassis which is very strong. Purchased by me from the Sydney Bus & Truck Museum in 1998 who were using it as a runabout collecting spare parts etc. Then fully restored by me over a 4 year period and shipped to the UK for the 2003 Vauxhall Centenary celebrations. Engine & clutch were fully rebuilt, paintwork was stripped and refinished in its original Holden Elk Blue, and the cab was completely reupholstered to original specification using vinyl and rubber matting not carpet. The rear decking is Australian hardwood under steel rails and protected by a new tonneau cover. The radio has been set up for MP3 but not used. Heaters were not fitted as they were not required. The truck has lived a sheltered existence here on the Isle of Wight in recent years clocking up a few miles during the Summer months only with no Winter use.
