SOLD, SIMILAR REQUIRED ! Mr Christie of Leamington Spa walked into Henlys Ltd located at Highway Garage Kenpas Highway, Coventry to purchase a Tr7 in early 1977 and was so disappointed with what he saw requested that they try to locate him a TR6 Sports car instead, Henlys managed to find a un-registered example, A Carmine White example with Black Ambla trim with optional overdrive, Heater, Black tonneau cover, Disc wheels and Michelin XAS tyres, the car was duly registered on the 24th March 1977 and issued with the Coventry registration number SKV 799R however Mr Christie decided not to take delivery of the car and it remained at the dealer. In Late 1977 the TR6 was again sold by Henlys to Mr Whewell of Knutsford who was a serial TR6 owner/ driver, it then spent the next 20 years in storage as an object d’art barely turning a wheel. Having known and serviced the TR for the past 15 years Triumph Specialist TR Bitz purchased the car from Mr Whelwell in April 1998 with just 766 recorded miles on the clock, the car was kept in their own private collection and was used as a point of reference in case of originality for restoration and concours cars. By January 2004 at circa 840 miles the TR had passed to new custodian Mr Nuttall of Gravesend, Kent via an Essex based Classic Car specialist, Some 1, 224 miles where covered in his ownership. In 2014 at 2, 064 recorded miles the TR6 was sold via a Buckingham Classic Car Specialist to Mr Ashton of Otley who used the car for occasional shows, SKV 799R is complete with its original factory jack and tool roll, Original Triumph ‘Passport to Service’ including 1000 miles Free Service sheet & Owners Service Statement, Original Triumph TR6 Owners handbook, Various service/ parts invoices, Letter from the 2nd registered keeper (1977 to 2000) stating the TR’s provenance, Statement of condition and provenance from Triumph specialist TR Bitz , British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate, and Spare keys, SKV 799R has also over the years attracted the attention of the motoring press and has been featured in many Classic car magazines, The odometer now displays an amazingly low, genuine 2, 999 miles and is the lowest mileage TR6 in known in existence.
