Description
1965 Chevrolet Corvette C2 Stingray DHC LHD - AUCTION COMMENCES 8th MAY
Delivered new to the original owners in Arizona and remained there for the next 29 years.
Imported into the uk in 1994 at 63000 miles.
Subsequently sold to the husband of an Olympic Gold Medal Winner and TV Celebrity, who kept the car for the next 25 years. Invoices show the car was very well cared for during that time . The car only completed 500 miles during their ownership, with annual MOTs and a few occasional runs. It was probably bought as an investment, and, if so, it certainly proved to be a good one !
In 2021, prior to my purchase, the car was professionally inspected, the chassis showing no signs of welding or corrosion and Waxoyled.
I have enjoyed over 1, 200 miles trouble free motoring in this car in the past year. Current mileage reading 66, 000.
The condition of the car is truly outstanding. The paint looks like new in Metallic Melano Maroon paint (probably repainted in USA shortly before import to UK). The original matching interior, chrome & hood are all in superb condition. It has the desirable Hurst manual gearbox, and very effective 4 wheel Disk Brakes. Everything is in good working order (although original radio crackles). Now fitted with electronic ignition and some spares, including an original re-manufactured AC Delco starter motor, plugs, coil, belts and a copy of the original 1965 Construction Manual. Definitely one of the very best unrestored examples anywhere. Absolutely showroom condition. Big history file. Only for sale as I have now purchased a 1958 Corvette C1.
