Brilliant Silver Metallic with Blue leather trim.

Supplied new by Jacksons Mercedes Benz of St Peter's, Jersey in the summer of 1996, the original owner retained ownership until 2003, when the second and only subsequent owner purchased the SL from the main dealer in 2003, with a sum total of 13, 000 miles on the clock. That original Jacksons advert for the SL in the car's history file.
Clearly the car has been highly prized and cherished throughout its life, and is presented as an exceptional example of a 129 series SL500.
The interior shows very little sign of wear, the leather is near unmarked, with everything working as it should. Likewise the boot compartment, complete with original equipment wind deflector and cover, tool kit still in its 129 bag, first aid kit and fold up hard top stand.
The original dealer fitment Blaupunkt Munchen radio is still present.
The engine bay could be of show standard, no leaks, no mess, just very clean, sharp and tidy.
The car drives extremely well, stops, starts as it should and the gear changes flawlessly. Continuous and thorough servicing mean the car has no signs of wear and tear.
This, being a 1996 R129 means it has avoides the eco friendly wiring looms of the '93-95 cars, wiring which disintegrates for fun, back to nature, and causing the car all sorts of problems.
As with the bodywork, it is all in keeping with the car's general demina. No rust or dents, perhaps a couple of chips and minor marks give way to the cars 27 years.....
It should be noted when the car was inspected for the MOT in December, the underside of the car was described as in 'astonishing' condition by the MOT inspector, this is partly down the cars lifestyle, and the fact that on the Channel Islands, salt in not used on the roads during winter, thus the underside of Island cars are in so much better condition than their mainland counterparts
The electric mohair factory hood works well, no issues at all. The hood itself is in exceptional condition.
The car will be supplied with all its original handbooks, service books, bills, documents and paperwork.
2 x sets of original keys.
MOT until mid December 2023.
All duties have been paid, and the Nova letter is in the history file. I am able to help with UK mainland registration, it is a straightforward process, it will be allocated an age related August 1996 number.
