Lot 63
1950 Velocette LE 150cc
Reg. no. GWN 57
Frame no. 5162
Engine no. 5015
As a pre-war design the LE (Little Engine) was unconventional with its pressed steel frame, state of the art forks, swinging arm suspension, and adjustable rear shock absorber mounts. The riders were kept clean by the large mudguards, built in leg shields and footboards. The engine is started using a hand operated lever and the drive shaft operated through one leg of the swinging arm. Extensively used throughout the UK Police Force led to its nickname the ‘Noddy Bike’.
This bike appears to be in very original unrestored ‘oily rag’ condition and the engine turns over, using the hand start lever. It is being sold as part of a deceased estate and it is not known when it was last running.
Comes with – a current V5C, Velocity LE Service Manual and a spare parts book.
Estimate: £400-600
