Austin Champ 1952 number 060 and matching Sankey trailer for sale.
Built in May 1952, as number 060 Chassis number WN1 060 Army No 00BE60
Probably the 3 rd oldest in the world, having completed restoration in 2021 by an ex-
Army man. The Champ and matching trailer are liveried in the colours of the East
Anglian regiment originally based in Felixstowe. Civilian No JVS 365 was allocated
on decommissioning in 1962
This Austin Champ comes with the trailer which is very rareThe restoration was a total restoration, complete with new hood and side panels and
seat upholstery. The vehicle we understand is waterproof throughout, it has the
snorkel fitted. And everything works as it should. The 3 gear boxes being 5 gears,
forward and reverse and 2 or 4 wheel drive,
The Engine is of the Rolls Royce type B40 mk2 with gloss black, finish, No 2470,
there is a Spare engine block included No 1197. Engine size 2838cc Petrol,
Power assisted steering (very rare) has recently been fitted, a complete brake
overhaul and new spark plugs carried out.
The Champ was designed to carry a machine gun and rocket launcher and provided
a stable platform for firing on the move, but was also used in adaptations for
Ambulance, Wireless communications or Cargo carriers.
The many extras included are:
Ammunition boxes,
Jerry can on the rear next to the spare wheel,
Pick axe and Shovel,
Many army canvas bags,
Detachable searchlight,
Padlock on fuel cap
1952 Machete,
Helicopter landing sheet,
Mine detector,
Interconnecting vehicle to vehicle cable,
Nato hook and electrical connections on the rear.
Each seat has rifle brackets, the floor has the wooden lath duckboards,
Original Military workshop manual and handbook and all tools as expected are
present.

The Sankey trailer also restored Chassis No SA6855, Army No 68BN55
Road tax and Mot exempt, V5 present.
