The Land Rover is MOT’d until November 2023 and has been maintained regardless of cost.
The bodywork is Totally original & in fantastic condition, still retaining its factory deep shine and period ‘COUNTY’ decals. Also present are a set of 5 Land Rover alloy wheels on BF Goodrich AT tyres. A pair of quality side rails are fitted which aid getting in & out along with the ever so important tow bar with electrics.
Inside the interior boasts the original Moorland cloth trim (3 seats in front, Three 60/ 40 split in middle row seats and space for 4 individual seats in the rear. (These have been removed for insurance purposes ) There are NO silly extras or modifications, Even the original 29 year old radio cassette is present & amazingly still functioning.
Out on the road, it is no surprise that it drives superb with no unusual knocks, bangs or whines. The much improved 300 Tdi engine delivers smooth power with great economy and proven reliability. The 300 tdi engine is considered by so many to be the best engine Land Rover ever made!
The chassis & bulkhead is Absolutely superb still retaining its factory black paint in places! EVEN THE REAR CROSS MEMBER IS ORIGINAL!
In totally original & unmolested, factory specification having no extras what so ever, not even a scrap of chequer plate fitted!
This is a very hard to find, unspoilt example just as it left Solihull 29 years ago.
Comes complete with all its original Land Rover handbook and 2 sets of keys.
All in all, this is a genuine much loved Defender in beautiful original condition which Cleary appears to have had a very easy life. Not to be confused with the usual ‘worked’ examples out there.
Must be seen to be fully appreciate the quality of this one.
Land Rover has ceased production of the legendary Defender since June 2015 so prices of Defenders are rapidly rising and a great investment especially the much sought after 300 Tdi.
