Imported into Switzerland in relatively small numbers, a Peugeot 404 station car is a very rare sight these days. The example we have on offer was first registered on the 30th October 1962. In 2007 the 404 was discovered (and acquired) by the vendor in a store. He commissioned a thorough cleaning of the car including all the technical components. Over the last 12 years around 15’000 Swiss francs for original parts and about 2’000 hours of labour were invested into this robust French icon. The engine and the braking system were completely overhauled, all suspension bushings replaced and on the rear axle, in order to increase the max. permitted load to 600 kilos, twin helical springs were mounted. The coachwork, without any trace of repair welding, as well as the interior are in an absolutely unique original shape with a perfect patina. As of today this fantastic Peugeot has covered a mere 136’000 kilometres and the last MOT was completed in November 2022.
