motodrome are pleased to offer this utterly superb 1974 MG B GT V8, finished in it’s original Aconite, with contrasting velour interior.
This is an original factory V8, not a conversion, and is one of just 92 factory V8’s that left the factory in this colour. It’s one of the last chrome-bumper models.
In standard specification with the exception of a) the front valance spoiler, b) SPAX upright shock absorber conversion, electronic ignition, and the period Motorola radio has been adapted with an AUX input.
The last owner, a serious enthusiast with his own fully equipped workshop, bought the MG in 2005 and, between 2009 and 2011, carried out a complete bare-metal restoration on the vehicle, returning it to it’s original colour scheme. It remains in outstanding condition and is a real credit to him.
We have a good file of bills from the restoration with it and MOT’s back to 1995
It’s covered around 16000 miles since the restoration (which included a full engine rebuild) and has always been garaged since, and not used in the wet or the winter.
Odometer reading 36000 although we think this has been round the clock, so we’re selling it as ‘mileage presumed incorrect’ to avoid any misunderstandings. .

If you’re familiar with MGB’s but have never driven a V8, a fully-sorted one like this is an absolute revelation as the engine suits the car perfectly and gives it the sort of smooth, effortless performance, that the usual 1800cc 4 cylinder cars can only dream of. High speed cruising with the standard overdrive engaged is a doddle.
It’s in absolutely fantastic condition throughout, and is probably one of the nicest ones out there – I’m struggling to find fault with it. It’s colour really pops and immediately transports you back to the era of the 3-day week, glam rock, and bell-bottom trousers…
