* here are some notes from the owner on the mileage:
MOT certificates give the current mileage of a vehicle, of course. I didn’t need to MOT the RGS, as it is exempt, but I did after I bought it for a while, to confirm that it was roadworthy. I acquired it in 2014, when the mileage was recorded as 1, 420. The last time I had it MOT’d was in 2017, when the mileage was 1, 887. I have some other MOT certificates, with one dated 2006 when the mileage was 969. In May 2004, the mileage was recorded as 0004, whereas in 2003 it was recorded as 2, 963, so obviously the speedo must have had some work done on it at this time. In 1997 it was recorded as 2, 907.
The speedo has most likely been renovated or replaced several times during its 60 year lifetime, although it is clear that the bike hasn’t covered many miles since the early 90’s. It is anybody’s guess how many miles it has done since 1963! However, from the records I have, it seems very probable that It has been off the road during some periods of time.
All the old MOT certificates, plus any other documents relating to the bike’s history, will of course be given to the new owner.
