1930 Royal Enfield Model D 500cc SV.
Restoration of this Royal Enfield Model D was begun but has never been finished.
The engine has been completely rebuild with invoice detailing all work carried out from a very renowned engine builder that is still active. The engine has been stored with oil in it.
The girder fork has been painted and fitted with all new spindles and nuts.
The paint work is not perfect in some places and it would be nice to repaint and refinish those parts to finish off the restoration at a high level.
Original Lucas Magdyno fitted, stamped 1930. Original Lucas H52 headlamp with correct rear mounted switch. Bronze Amal carb. Correct Sturmey Archer LS 3-speed gearbox fitted.
Needed to do is:
Rewiring (there are old (new) wires attached but I dont know if it is well made)
Re-finish and re-paint some parts on the bike.
Fit new tyres (the tyres have not been run but they were fitted years ago).
Fit seat cover to saddle.
New chrome rim to the headlamp
Fit 'hand' and check function of original Lucas amp meter.
Fit inverted levers
Fit new numberplate holder
Fit rubber knee pads
Included but currently not fitted to the bike are passenger footrests, sprung pillion seat and metal brackets to fix rubber knee pads on to the petrol tank.
