Motodrome offer for sale this very nice restored 1962 Land Rover Series IIa 2. 25 petrol soft top, finished in Bronze Green, that was rebuilt in 2014 onto a galvanised chassis.
Comes with the nice OFF numberplate, although this isn’t transferable.
spec wise it has 600x16 tyres, bonnet mounted spare wheel, (although there is another mount on the rear bulkhead) wing mirrors, razor edged bonnet, windowed soft top, and towbar.
It also retains it’s period-correct features inc sprung steering wheel, short handbrake lever, deep modesty covers etc etc. Looks just the way a 61 year old one should.
Inside, it has 3 deluxe seats in the front and Smiths round heater.
Odometer reading 96000 miles, although it’s done slightly more as the MOT history shows the speedo stopped working for a while.
It’s only had 2 owners since 2007, and the last owner bought it as a fully restored example in 2015, and has enjoyed it ever since.
I’ve owned and driven probably at least a hundred Series II and IIa models over the years, and this is a really sorted one, with the galvanised chassis being a real bonus. It’s full of character, and on test run on arrival it performed really well.
Whilst it’s road tax, MOT, and ULEZ exempt, the previous owner has kept up the voluntary MOT. It’s currently MOT’d to August 2023 and we’re happy to provide a fresh 12M MOT on sale for peace of mind.
