Reluctantly, due to Mr Khan introducing the expanded ULEZ scheme to all London boroughs from August, I need to sell my car, I have owned it for the past ten years and I will miss her. A lot.

1994 E Class Cabriolet, A124 / W124, E320, with less than 90K on the clock. If you are reading this you will already know the history and engineering works carried out on these cars, list price of almost £50k when new in '94 so that speaks for itself!

This car comes with
Armrest Front Centre, Cruise Control, Wooden Console Box Between Front Seats, Passenger Air Bag, polished 8-hole alloy Wheels, Automatic gearbox, Anti-Glare Mirror, Exit Lights In Doors, Momo wooden steering wheel (Original leather wheel included should you wish to change), Vanity Mirrors Twin Illuminated, Walnut Wood Trim and an MOT until Sept 2023.

The History
This car has enjoyed a series of careful owners (one being the same one twice!) who all used the car as a summer second car given that it has covered circa 3, 000 miles per year on average.

The Paperwork
The car comes with a great amount of paperwork and history. The archive includes stamps, many bills, invoices and numerous hard copy MOT certificates. The original dealer book pack is also present in the original wallet including the owner’s manual. MOT until Sept 2023.

The Interior
The interior is grey leather, no rips or tears, contrasting walnut trim and complimentary dark coloured wool carpets and presents very well indeed. The main benefit of the W124 cabriolet is that it is a true four-seater, and the rear cabin is not only spacious but is in equally good condition as the front. The well insulated roof operates smoothly via a switch on the centre console and stows completely under a body-coloured panel providing an uncluttered look but also promoting airflow and reducing noise. Surprisingly quiet for a convertible and keeps the interior toasty during the colder months. A wooden Momo steering wheel has been installed but I have the original leather MB one if you ever want to swap over. A face off stereo / cd / usb player all works as it should. No cracks in wood work, very rare centre vent "wood" inserts. All electrics work.

The Exterior
The brilliant silver metallic paintwork presents very well but does show signs of aging in places (see below). The wheels are polished alloys but I do have a spare set of the original four (included) if you wish to swap over during the winter months. A new roof and headlining was fitted four and a bit years ago and is as good as new. The wind deflector is also included which is a rarity nowadays!

The Mechanics
The smooth running straight six engine is a great machine that is happy around town as it is cruising down the M or A roads. This well proven engine, provides relaxed and quiet driving but significant torque when needed. A new wiring loom was installed around 8 years ago as the originals were subject to deterioration, so if you are after one of these cars, which I assume you are, make sure this has been carried out to save a lot of heartache later. Tons of new stuff underneath (see invoice circa £4k). No oil / water leaks, no squeaks or rattles.

Conclusion
My car offers all the practicality of an executive saloon, with the sun-loving joy of a grand tourer, all wrapped up in timeless Mercedes-Benz styling. This is a lovely example and receives lots of admiring glances. I would have no hesitation in jumping in her tomorrow and driving her to Scotland. There has been a lot of these cars for sale recently, mainly the E220's which as I understand are underpowered that are a lot more than I am asking. With the odd bits of bodywork done she will be in tip top condition and I have pitched the sale value taking this into account. I am of course, open to negotiation but silly offers will be ignored. Please do not be offended, but I am not willing to let a complete stranger drive this car on a test run, I will be the driver and am more than willing to take you for a drive until it is paid for, I have bad previous experience and this is non-negotiable.

Bearing in mind she is in her 29th year, and being highly critical I list below the areas that could be improved upon to make her perfect. I have been happy living with them but list as follows;
Drivers side seat butler holder broken
Paint around roof line and aerial near boot is crazed.
Minor crazing of paint on rear number plate panel.
Drivers door mirror and under window line needs spraying
Car park scratches to rear bumper
Crack in centre of front bumper
Broken manual aerial ( as of last week!)
Temperamental ashtray locking mechanism
Slight bubbling of one rear wheel arch

Benefits
Spare set of wheels (only not tyres) included
Low mileage
Replaced wiring loom 2015
Suspension / brake works / new roof
Lots of old MOT's previous owners paperwork

Please note the K155 number plate is in the process of being transferred.
