1972 historic mini endurance rally car 1275cc (rebodied 2014 using later model shell)

FULLY SEAM WELDED SHELL, DOUBLE SKINNED FLOOR
ALL THE RIGHT RALLY MODS, 2 FUEL TANKS, ROLLCAGE, TRIP METERS, etc..

Whilst in my ownership I have refurbished it a little, by converting it back to a centre console, new front wiring loom fitted. Interior floor was linished back to bare metal as had light surface rust, etch-primed and painted, then dodomat sound insulation fitted, then new carpets. Fitted a battery isolation switch and rev tachometer.

I will include the 2 clock drivers side console instruments and fittings too, plus pictures and history of its rally adventures byb orevious owners.

It also comes with rally equipment, 4 point harnesess, roll cage, sump guard, radio unit for helmets, interior light, fire extinguisher, timing gear. (Terra Trip Classic 202 rally computer with gps unit and remote, Brantz International 2 Pro and remote, Brantz Rally Timer and remote) Timing gear and wiring is not fitted as I haven't used them and new owner may not want to fit all of them, wiring and board to fit them to dash is supplied.

Underside floor could do with being linished and repainted as showing surface rust, nothing major, all very solid.
It has an eletrical issue I've not got round too yet - the interior dash lights, rear running lights and rev counter do not work - likely to be earth issue or maybe a short somewhere.
Dash side panels need fitting, left off for easier access to electrics, new set comes with car.
Engine does have a small oil leak I think it maybe gear linkage seal, does not loose much, not been an issue for me, Drives real nice not smoking out exhaust.

It is not a concorse car, has been on adventures so shows some small dents no major rust a solid shell, just some surface rust in spots, see pictures, gets lots of admiring looks and comments everytime i take it out. Very reliable car always garaged and not driven in rain since I've owned it.

It's had some adventures, now time for someone else to have some more adventures in it...

This exceptional Mini is the first ever of its kind to finish the Peking to Paris endurance rally. Spending 36 days on the road and travelling a breath-taking 13, 700 kilometres the car and its drivers finished in style coming a formidable 22nd position overall. Prior to its heroic journey from Peking to Paris in 2016, the car also partook in the Sahara Challenge 10 day rally in 2015 and LeJog as a shakedown prep.

In preparation for these incredibly demanding rallies the Mini received a full strip and re rebuild in 2014 by Owen Turner at TMS Bury St Edmonds. Works included a fully seam welded shell, full repaint, double skinned floor, all of the correct rally mods, fully adjustable suspension, 2 fuel tanks, rollcage, trip meters, 2 spare wheels and much more
