MGB Roadster: Stunning - Low Mileage/ Owners
The original MGB Roadster is one of the most recognisable British sports cars ever manufactured. It brought affordable fun to the open road when launched in 1962 and today the later rubber bumper cars are an ideal/ cost effective choice for anyone looking for roof down classic ownership.
During the 1980 Christmas bank holidays Mr Hazelwood was going out with his wife to have lunch with his in-laws. On route they saw a brand-new Inca Yellow MGB Roadster at the showroom of Mann Egerton in Worcester. Production had ceased some months earlier, but they fell in love with the car and a deal was done that saw them part-exchange their MG Midget 1500.
The car was registered to Mr Hazelwood’s company, Hazelwood Engineering and was used for camping trips to Scotland and the South of France. Used sparingly the car always ran well and gave much pleasure before being passed on for safekeeping to Mr Hazelwood’s mother to make space for a Healey 3000. The MG was finally released to the second owner in late 2020 and we have just taken her back in part-exchange to make way for another Milestones car.
The only departure from original specification is the black leather/ yellow piping leather seats, period radio/ cassette and moto-lita steering wheel - all of which really lift the interior.
Bodywork is very original with nice paint, excellent panel alignment – you can’t beat an original car and the Inca Yellow really does work with rubber bumpers – and original rostyle wheels.
Mechanically the car has never wanted for anything and drives well. She starts instantly with the overdrive gearbox coping well with modern road conditions and she is an absolute pleasure to drive.
There is an excellent history file with original V5, drivers handbook, various invoices, and correspondence from the original owner.
We recommend an early test drive in order to fully appreciate this lovely classic and the joys of top-down classic motoring.
