Launched at the 1962 Paris Motor Show, the Alpine A110 GT4 coupe succeeded the A108 2+2, which was intended to be a more livable evolution and aesthetically more convincing thanks to its redesigned rear section. Only 278 units were produced, all engine versions combined.
As a 1100L version, this specific car was first registered on the 9th June 1966 despite leaving the factory in February of the same year. It was recently discovered in a barn, after it was purchased at auction in 2014 by its previous owner who was seduced by its rarity. However, he was quick to put his Alpine into storage, previously registered in the Pas de Calais since 1982, after having difficulty driving it. The bodywork was previously repainted and it has some age-related imperfections. It is equipped with small wing extensions which enabled the optional traditional rims to have enough space (very fashionable at that time). In the same spirit, the bumpers evoked the Berlinetta. The type 688-03 engine meets the V70 standards. The black leatherette upholstery is also original and fairly well preserved, with the exception of a small tear in the front seat. In 2023, the braking system was serviced and the master cylinder replaced, the engine drained and the oil filter changed, as well as the starter which was reconditioned. Unusual and worthy of consideration, this charming GT4 could either benefit from a restoration or work to improve reliability while retaining the scars of its past life.
