Along with the more exotic & rare cars we work with on a regular basis, we do have a soft spot for the 6N Polo - having been around them since they were new. Now becoming harder to find and surely heading for classic status in the coming years this model of Polo make an ideal retro run around, or a great affordable introduction to modern classic VW ownership.
Being sold as a "light project" for further improvement- it deserves to be saved. According to the "How Many Left" website there are only 14 1998 1. 6GL Polos currently taxed in the UK, how many of those are Open Air editions...? Not many we'd guess.
In silver with grey cloth interior, showing 67056 miles covered by it's two previous owners. Good service history present in the book pack, having stamped Volkswagen Dealer history up until 2014, and receipts for regular servicing by independent garages after that. MOT'd until January 2024.
Good specification, with power steering, electric front windows, electric mirrors, central locking, alloy wheels and of course the rare "Open Air" full length electric sunroof. Manual Transmission.
Overall the car runs and drives very well, but does require some attention to restore it. As seen in the photos, the bodywork needs some work specifically some minor damage to the left side and signs of corrosion to both rear arches. The interior is in overall good condition with the roof operating as it should. The original dealer fit Sony stereo is present. Mechanically it would likely benefit from a good service.
