Just in time for the new season - and if you're quick, in time for Drive It Day on April 21st - we are delighted to be able to bring this lovely MGB Roadster to market.
Unfortunately available owing to a bereavement, this was the owner's pride and joy.

Registered in August 1975, and finished in what looks like Tartan red (even if my phone makes it look like it has more of a pink tinge) with a contrasting black vinyl interior, with red piping on the seats, this is arguably one of the better combinations of MG with the later looks of the rubber bumper model combined with the earlier-style gauges on the dash.
The bodywork is straight, with no obvious damage or corrosion showing, and mechanically it is in very good condition. It had been standing for a while before we got to it, but with a bit of priming of the fuel pump it fired straight up. It holds good oil pressure and drives very well indeed. The engine pulls strongly, the 4-speed non-overdrive gearbox is positive if a bit notchy and the brakes are excellent. This would seem to support the 75, 000 indicated miles being genuine.
The exhaust looks to be stainless as well, which is one less thing to worry about.

The paintwork is very good, but not perfect. The engine bay would benefit from a tidy (and it's not a leak under the radiator - the hardboard cover is damaged / split) and there are a couple of areas of paint that have been touched up by hand, and an area on the rear wing where the paint has micro blistered. I have tried to show these imperfections in the images. These could no doubt be sorted by any halfway competent body shop, or else just get in the car and enjoy it. I'd be tempted myself, but at 6' 3" tall if I sit up straight in the car my eyes are perfectly in line with the sun visor....

This is a lovely little car which can be used and enjoyed straight away, for what's left of the summer, and then improved if desired over the winter.

Now tax and MOT exempt, but we can put an MOT on the car for the next owner if desired (the last MOT expired in 2021 and so has been done fairly recently.)

Open to any inspection or trial, and I'm open to serious offers on the car.
There are now some videos of the lower bodywork and the underside of the car available on our YouTube channel. Search for Albany Autos Ltd on YouTube
