Description
Here is a nice example of an early 1954 B. S. A. Gold Star 500cc motorcycle. In good original condition so not a perfect show winner just a good honest looking bike. Bought as a nostalgic look back I bought on a whim and have spent many hours getting it running properly. When it was sold described as " just needing fresh petrol" this was far from the truth. It had had a recent rebore to 60 thou, I ground the valves in, and the engine reassembled with a reconditioned magneto ( rewound armature, new points and re-magnetised). It now has plenty of compression, starts well with a good bark from the silencer. Ready to ride and improve or just keep. It has full lighting set but no battery is currently fitted . The tank has been repainted , the chrome is original and in good condition with the exception of a couple of small dings in the rear mudguard as shown in the photos. The only history I have is that is was rebuilt in the 1980's , I guess that is when it was put back on the DVLA data base. It was then a museum exhibit for many years until I bought it. I'm only selling it because I know I just haven't got the time to use it . And for the same reason selling my classic cars.
