Hi. This is a ex GT circuit race car that I acquired loosely fitted together about 2014. Mr Steve Soper was development driver for Pete Kitchen the owner.://
The original 1600 turbo race engine which ran on methanol and had the exhaust exiting through the cab was too modified for me to restore. So a later 1700 was fitted. The modified suspension, gearbox, brakes and a little body work was restored as I wished it to still look as it did in its day. It was rewired, and has a new fuel tank. Electric fuel pump. Fibre glass, bonnet and boot plus perspex windows. It made 140 bhp on the rolling road tune up at just over 7000 rpm. It was a fast engine as it held lap records for some meetings.
Starts happily each spring and is both easy and exhilarating to drive. Very reliable and sounds fantastic.
The original turbo engine and race suspension parts come with the car if you want it. There is very little rust in this car as it sat in a garage for 30 yrs as it was intended to be going back to racing.
The gear box is the original rebuilt close ratio 1200 ti and it has a mechanical LSD. The suspension was professionally set up and the parts are there if you wish to make it very low, as it was when I bought it.

Forged pistons were made especially for the engine and work well. It sounds very well and revs, but still has plenty of torque. Engine was built by K and L auto's who worked on the car originally.
The tyres I chose are a bit too high in the sidewall to be honest, so it stands a bit high. It has safeguarded the rims from potholes though. It could be used for hill climb and competition work, as goes and corners very well. It is quite spartan though. It really makes me smile, but my partner now struggles entering it and so its time to be a bit more sensible.
I chose it as I realised I missed seeing the modified cars of the seventies, the escorts, mini's, Saab's and many other on the road.
