1984 Jaguar XJS HE 5. 3 V12
Currently has just over 23, 000 miles on the clock, though it had a new engine fitted at 58, 176 miles in 1992 (and had the speedo replaced at roughly the same time), therefore total actual mileage is approx 82k. I have a reasonable history of this with invoices/ mots etc that back this up.
7 former owners
Great service history - I have a folder full of documentation.
MOT until 21/ 09/ 2024
I bought the vehicle in 2021 from the previous owner in Oxford.
It's in good shape, though with the usual age related issues, it has had quite a bit of work done over the past few years, most recently:
- Radius Arms
- Subframe mount bushes
- Front D bar bushes
- Track rod ends
- Wishbone ball joint
- Viscous fan
- Rad support crossmember
The engine is smooth, idle is correct, no hot or cold start problems. it has had new soundproofing throughout, it also benefits from a new exhaust, nice and quiet at cruising speed but makes a lovely noise under acceleration (though I have been very tempted to remove the mid silencers to unleash a bit more of that V12 howl!).
There's so much more that has been done, I do have a spreadsheet of all parts installed since 2018 which I can provide if necessary.
The bad bits:
- Paintwork is good but not show-car quality
- Slight exhaust blow
- Wing mirror electric adjustment no longer works (intermittent)
- Cruise control system removed (I have the parts if you wish to reinstall it - But they didn't work very well even from new)
- A/ C does not work - Blower works and controls work, it just doesn't blow cold (might just need re-gassing but it didn't bother me enough to get round to it)
Located just south of Bath, UK.
Will be very sad to see it go, but I am moving on to other projects.
Thank you for looking.
