Purchased in 2007 as a project. Refurbished over the next few years and first MOT'd 2010. BSA Owners Club Dating Certificate gives production date as June 1969 and was originally dispatched to Portugal. Engine core is earlier but externally correct for 1969 with the exception that there is no oil pressure switch. Only around 700 miles ridden since completion. Chrome on tank and exhaust system a little tired. Everything else in very good condition. Lots of invoices for parts and work. Good looking bike, nice to ride, starts easily and does not wet sump as anti-wetsump valve fitted. Bike not being used enough due to others in the garage hence reason for sale. Supplied with correct toolkit and owners manual. I have always liked the unit BSA twins and have two others. They are very affordable and useable. The US specification of the bike is to me very appealing and the bike always draws a lot of attention. Parts are easy to obtain. With a single carb and Boyer electronic ignition and electronic rectifier/ regulator the bike is reliable and easy to live with. The 500 is smoother than the 650's so very comfortable for the sort of riding most classic bike riders enjoy.
