1929 Morris Oxford ?Flat Nose? Four Seat Tourer.
With the larger 1, 802cc Oxford engine, this is a practical and capable Vintage tourer.
It is well presented in burgundy with black wings and is clearly a well-maintained car. It starts first time and all the controls work nicely.
An older restoration, there are age related marks on the paintwork but overall the Oxford presents well.
The car has full weather equipment including six sidescreens and which is in good order.
The interior has been re-trimmed in black vinyl, like a great many Morrises of this age. The door cards, however, are all original. The grey carpet is in good order.
The Oxford retains the correct nickel plating on all the brightwork which is nice to see and so much more Vintage than chrome.
The car has been serviced only this August. Other works undertaken in the recent past are rebuilds of the magneto, carburettor and radiator.
There is a trunk with compartments to carry the sidescreens that fits on the carrier at the rear of the car.
On the nearside wing there is a toolbox which contains the jack and one or two useful spares.
On test the Oxford drove well. The gearbox is easy to use and the brakes pull the car up square.
The Morris has been authenticated as a matching numbers car by the Bullnose Morris Club and the letter is in the file. It was despatched from the factory on 30th June, 1929 but not registered until 28th February, 1930.
Well served by the Bullnose Morris Club and Morris Register, the Oxford makes an ideal introduction to Vintage motoring with its robust and simple mechanicals and plenty of room for the family, all for a very affordable price.
