Jaguar E-Type Series 1 4. 2Ltr Fixed Head Coupe. 1965/ 66.

This lovely example of the series one E-Type, finished in original Opalescent Maroon, was shipped to Jaguar New York in December 1965, and registered with the first owner Harold H Wolchinok in January 1966, as per the Heritage Certificate.
After several years on the East Coast, the E-Type became part of a private collection in Ontario Canada in 1987, until the death of the owner in 2009. His Son inherited the car and kept it until 2015/ 16, when it was sold and repatriated to the UK.

I, the owner, purchased the E-Type in May of 2016 from the late musician Toby Smith, and used the car for the following summer, until taking it off the road in the autumn. Although the car had spent over 20 years under cover in a collection, and this was reflected in the solid condition of the bodywork, I decided to carry out a full professional restoration/ refurbishment, which took place over several years.

Too much work has been carried out to list fully in this advertisement, but the car was stripped right back to a bare shell and fully dismantled.
The engine has been fully reconditioned by an 'old school' professional engine builder. The differential rebuilt with UK ratios 3. 09:1. All suspension cleaned and checked. Full new wiring loom, new full leather interior by John Skinner manufacturing. Body work carried out by Classic Car Restorations. Etc Etc... There is a photographic record of the work.

I have kept this lovely E-Type as original as possible, there are no poly-bushes, fancy shock-absorbers, or fast road cams, but she does have a new Broadsport 5-speed gearbox, and much needed uprated brakes. Great fun to drive, and a lovely touring car. She has been constantly used since work was completed in early 2020, and has just completed a 2000 mile road trip across Europe to Northern Denmark, and ran beautifully.
The car has covered 5800 miles since its restoration was finished, and now the mileage of approximately 59000 is showing.

NOTE: Number plate 1310D is not included in the sale, and the car will be transferred back to the D suffix age related plate.
