Reluctantly for sale is this lovely 1952 Morgan Plus4, finished in green with black leather.
Originally believed to have been registered to the Morgan factory itself, the original registration number was apparently just one digit out from some of their racing cars, and so was possibly a 'spare' racing car. The number was retained when the factory sold it on.
It has since had a period living in Guernsey, and so today wears an age-appropriate number. There is a massive history file with the car showing all its adventures.
At the heart of the car is the engine, a late Triumph TR4A unit running twin SU carbs. The engine also benefits from recent attention in the form of a high-port cylinder head and 89mm pistons and liners, along with a re-profiled Piper camshaft and electronic ignition. The total capacity is increased slightly from the standard 2289cc to approx. 2400cc
The car has also been fitted with a brake servo.
Externally the car has a had a bare metal respray in its original dark green, which contrasts nicely with the silver wheels, and the interior has been retrimmed in black leather with dark green piping.
It further benefits from a new, period-correct classic wiring loom and some useful additions such as modern indicators.
All in all, this would make a fine addition to any enthusiasts' garage. Especially as all the had work has been done and it's ready to be used and enjoyed right from the get-go.
The car is of course tax and MOT exempt, although it can be MOT'd for the next keeper's peace of mind if desired.
Open to sensible offers.
