Very nice early "lights trough the grill" model (built 06. Septembre 1950).
Permanent four wheel drive with freewheel gearbox, operated via yellow knob (original). The engine is a 1, 6 from a 061... car, but sized.
The car is presently disassembled, but mostly complete including spare engine (2, 0 "siamese"which is turning), a spare gearbox (061....) and a spare radiator.
Chassis and bulkhead are professionally rebuilt and painted in correct "bronze green". The chassis is galvanized under the paint. All the corner profiles are hot dip galvanized also the original rims.

The axles chrome balls are in good working order, but the swivel pin bearings and the crome ball seals need attention, also the original aluminium steering box (no cracks, but play)..
Many new items will come with the car: Correct braided harness, lots of seals, both front fenders (inner and outer), one front door, correct hand throttle mechanism, correct wheel brake cylinders, brake lines, a complete and correct nut and bolt kit from LR fasteners, door seal retainers, fuel tank, fuel pump, warning lights, side lights, correct centre part of steering wheel and dip switch, axle bushings and so on..
Also a lot of the original parts are allready refurbished: Battery and air cleaner tray, the original valve covers for the 1. 6 engine, the original wheels the original radiator and many more..
What is missing: Tires, shock absorbers, hood/ roof, rear D-lamps.

This will be the right restoration project for someone with the right passion for Series 1 Land Rovers. Experience working on those cars would be of course a big plus.

As a long time Land Rover enthusiast I bought this 80" more than 20 years ago with the intention of a complete restoration.
Because it had not the correct engine, I aquired a spare parts 80", which was in a surprisingly good condition - to good to scrap.. Thus I decided to restore both of them. At the beginning the restoration runned parallel, thus allready lots new and refurbished parts.. But now I do not have the time to bring this little beauty back to life, therefore I decided to give it into loving hands.
This Land Rover was imported to Switzerland late 1950, the numbers are matching, except the engine number.
