Although the VW Golf GTi was launched in 1976, it was not until June 18th that the first right-hand drive Golf GTi was manufactured at the Wolfsburg Factory, which had the registration number ENT 847V in England.
The Golf GTi that is now for sale was one of the last examples to be sold in England with a left-hand drive.
